Born in 1993 this night event gather people of Brighton and Hove together to walk through the city in a procession with costumes and lanterns made of willow canes and paper. The celebration will culminate in a lantern bonfire on the beach followed by fireworks! The lantern represents a box filled with all your fears, hopes and wishes which will be finally burnt as a token for the end of the year. Burning the clocks is seen as a reaction to the materialistic Christmas about to reach its end. The parade will leave at 6.30pm. We expect the front of the parade to arrive at Madeira Drive at 7.15pm and the event to finish at 8pm. Please note all times are approximate. Find out more!
