ragamalaRagamala is a series of  music – inspired miniatures which illustrate several Indian music nodes. They are simply the representation of art, poetry and music in medieval India. The exhibition will take place at the Royal Pavilion and it will be administered by the Dulwich Picture Gallery. It’s interesting to mention that the owner of the collection, Claudio Moscatelli, fell in love with this form of art when he paid a visit to the Victoria & Albert Museum when he first moved to England from Italy. Each of the 24 raga paintings displayed, is a story of a hero and a heroine, their colour, mood and verse is usually associated to a particular period,  day or night in which the  raga is to be sung. A peculiar and delightful amalgamation of music and paintings.
