Don’t forget to come to my music night tomorrow night (1 September) in our gorgeous cocktail bar.
Entertainment starts at 7:30 with me and my friends.

I have worked my final shift as a receptionist today as I am sadly leaving The Oriental to persue my music and studies. I have loved working here and want to say a massive thank you to all the staff and guests I have met. It has been a real pleasure and a hotel that I adore. I will still be running music nights on the first Thursday of every month so I hope to see you at those events.

Wow… this month’s Oriental Live seems to have come round quick !

The Art of Duncan Grant and Vanessa Bell, 1905-1925

Brighton Museum , found in the beautiful Pavilion Gardens , is currently holding an exhibition of the Bloomsbury Artists (who have long been associated with Sussex through their Charlestown home) .

The exhibition , which is running until October , showcases the contribution from Duncan Grant and Vanessa Bell , as well as exploring the relationship between their work and the Avant-Garde art from 1905-1925. Focussing on paintings , textiles ,  screen and painted room panels.

December 11, @ The Brighton Centre

The king of Boogie-woogie is back in town with his rhythm and blues orchestra and Shane MacGowan as his special guest. Holland will be performing all of his classic songs and his new material, covering aspects of all of his solo-career.
It is needless to say that this is going to be an incredible show – a perfect idea for early an Christmas treat.

Amaretto Cooler – Disaronno, orange and cranberry juice stirred with ice and lime
Byzantine – Basil, Gin, pineapple juice shaken with ice, passion fruit syrup and lime. Topped with tonic water
Classic Mojito – White rum, mint and fresh lime. Served with ice and tonic
B-Right on – Gin, cranberry juice, amaretto and Chambord topped with ice and served with orange slice.

26 August, 7pm

The yellow wave cafe is one of our favourite places to go here in Brighton, especially in the summer. Not only do they beach sports available, but they also hold free acoustic entertainment. At the end of this month the beautiful Kelly Barnes (who is a regular performer here at The Oriental) will be singing throughout the evening.
There will also be a mexican themed BBQ available for £10, pre book your tickets for the scrummy food! Or entry is free if you just fancy a drink and some live music whilst watching the  sunset.

If you have ever come to one of our monthly music nights ‘Oriental Live ‘ then you would have had the pleasure of hearing Lisa Wadham and Simon Eden perform beautiful acoustic covers. These two talented musicians have many projects on the go, but they are most well-known for their function band ‘Staxx’. If you have a wedding or corporate event coming up then this band is for you. 1 July – 4th September

Brighton has gone Dinosaur crazy after the launch of an exhibition in Churchill Square. The shopping centre’s rare collaboration with the natural history museum has meant that shoppers are able to discover exciting facts about the prehistoric creatures. There are additional exhibits placed around the Centre, including touch and feel boxes and even a real T-Rex skull!
It’s an exciting showcase and one that’ll be interesting and fun for all ages.

7 December @ Brighton Centre

The legendary Bryan Adams is returning for his ‘Waking up the neighbours’ 20th Anniversary tour. He will be playing with his full band and will be performing all of his classic songs, as well as those from the 3x platinum selling album.

Expect to be singing your hearts out over two hours of non-stop hits.
