We have had a lovely stay at The Oriental. All the team were extremely helpful. The room was beautiful with all the right touches to make you feel at home. I would definitely recommend The Oriental!!!

Burning the Clocks is a charming Brighton family parade that celebrates the winter solstice with a lantern parade through the Lanes followd by a spectacular fire show and fireworks for the whole city on the seafront. The lantern makers invest their lanterns with their wishes, hopes and fears and then pass them into the fire.

The lantern parade will leave at 6.30pm. Going through North Street, Ship Street, Bartholomews, East Street the front of the parade should arrive at Madeira Drive at 7.15pm and the event to finish at 8pm. Please note all times are approximate.

The Christmas lights will go on in the Lanes, North Street and the North Laines on the 19th December and the countdown to Christmas will begin.  The show starts from 5pm with the lights being turned on at

6pm.
