________
Oriental Place was originally constructed as an approach to a projected Oriental garden, to be laid out by botanist and landscape-gardener Henry Phillips. The Oriental is a grade II*-listed building, built around 1825.
Once the home to the notorious ‘Brighton Belle’ nightclub attracting famous DJ’s from Boy George to Norman Cook, this Regency town house was then transformed into one of the original boutique guest houses in Brighton.
Since October 2012, Lola and Luna (her Boston terrier) have held the reins at The Oriental. Her family have been in the bed and breakfast business for over 50 years and there is no doubt this has provided her with many of the exceptional skills and qualities required for the personal and dedicated service she offers.
Breakfast is served in our open plan bar area from 8am to 9.30am weekdays and 9am to 10.30am on weekends and Bank holidays. If you have to leave before breakfast we can organise a packed breakfast for you.
All our breakfasts are cooked to order; we offer Full, Vegetarian & Vegan English breakfasts as well as lighter options such as cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt and a Continental choice. All of the ingredients from our Breakfast Menu are organic and sourced locally (where possible). Just let us know about any dietary requirements you may have when booking.
Drop in to sample our delicious Cocktail Menu as well as carefully selected premium spirits, beers, wines and champagnes. Our funky lounge and helpful staff make it the the place to start or finish your evening. For those rainy days, we have a selection of board games for you to choose from.
We offer complimentary tea, coffee, soft drinks and juice as well as homemade cake throughout your stay so do feel free to join us.

Location
The Oriental is a stone’s throw away from the seafront, in between the Bandstand and the West Pier. Situated very close to the i360, the Brighton Centre and less than a 10 min walk into the centre of town where Brighton’s independent shops are located.
Directions from Brighton Rail Station:
There is a taxi rank directly in front of the main station concourse and the fare from the station to the Oriental should be in the region of £6.00 (depending on traffic!).
You can also take the Number 6 bus, which departs from directly outside the station. Make sure you get off at the Waitrose stop, walk forward, and take the first left down Montpelier Road, and then left again onto Sillwood Road. Oriental Place is then on the right, and the Oriental is about half way down the street on the left hand side.
